Third Grade

Family/Parent-School Compact

2024-2025

(Revised July 19, 2024)

What is a Family/Parent-School Compact?

A Family/Parent-School Compact is an agreement that parents, students, and teachers develop together.  It explains how parents and teachers will work together to make sure all of our students reach grade-level standards.  It provides strategies to help connect learning at school and at home.

Effective Compacts:

·         Link to goals of the school improvement plan

·         Focus on student learning skills

·         Describe how teachers will help students develop those skills using high-quality instruction

·         Share strategies parents can use at home

·         Explain how teachers and parents will communicate about student progress

·         Describe opportunities for parents to volunteer, observe, and participate in the classroom

Jointly Developed

The parents, students and staff of Isle of Hope K-8 School worked together and shared ideas to develop the Family/Parent-School compact.  Teachers met on grade level teams to design practical strategies for parents to use at home.  Parents provided valuable input on their needs to help their students.  Students completed feedback forms to add ideas for the compact.  A Family Forum is held each year to review and revise the compact based on the school’s academic achievement goals, students’ needs, teacher, staff and student input. Parents are welcome to provide feedback on the compact at any time during the school year.  Please contact the school administrative team or the Family Engagement Facilitator at 912-395-6554 for support with any questions or concerns.  You may also visit our school’s website and click on the Title I tab for more information.
